The Challenge

The existing application had been developed using Microsoft Silverlight and relied heavily on Internet Explorer. As these technologies became outdated and unsupported, the platform was no longer compatible with modern browsers, devices, or operating systems.

In addition to compatibility issues, the system had become slow and difficult to use. Performance limitations and an outdated interface made it challenging for users to quickly analyse large volumes of energy data, particularly for businesses managing multiple meters across several locations.

Faros Engineering needed a modern, reliable solution that could support larger datasets, improve usability, and work seamlessly across all devices.

Our Approach

Discovery & UX Strategy

We analysed how users interact with energy data across multiple locations, identifying key pain points in navigation and reporting. This allowed us to streamline the user journey and prioritise quick access to critical insights.

Design Direction

A clean and modern interface was introduced to improve clarity and usability. The design focused on simplifying complex data views, making dashboards easier to understand and interact with.

The new platform provides Faros Engineering and their customers with a far more efficient way to monitor and analyse energy usage.

Users can now access the system from any device, including tablets and modern browsers, removing the limitations of the previous Internet Explorer-dependent platform. Improved performance allows large volumes of data to be processed and visualised quickly, while the updated dashboards and navigation make the platform easier to use.

The system has become an essential tool for Faros Engineering, supporting their expertise in energy monitoring while helping their clients better understand and manage electricity and gas consumption across multiple sites.
