Musango are a distributor of Wonki Ware products including ceramic plates, bowls, cups, mugs and more
They have now launched their own brand to compliment their range that they are able to offer and of course needed an identity.
We have recently rebuilt and launched their new wholesale purchasers website with the site going live at the end of January 2017. We are now also in the process of developing their brand new retail eCommerce site which is coming soon!
Musango were looking for a complete redevelopment of their website as they wanted to make their growing brand more attractive to customers whilst also increasing functionality of the site. To achieve what they were looking for the new website was built on an open source eCommerce platform.
Knowing that Musango required two sites, one for wholesalers and one for retail, the site was created with the ability to automatically take customers to the correct front end landing page depending on their account type.
To help with stock monitoring across both sites we integrated live stock updates spanning both sites. Therefore, regardless of which website the product was purchased the quantities remaining would update across retail and wholesaler.
As the wholesaler site requires customers to be registered with Musango as an official outlet, the site will not show prices or allow orders unless the customer has submitted an application and had their account approved by Musango. A minimum order value is also implemented. Both of these features will not be found on the retail site but the overarching account area will.
The account area was built to allow customers to, among other things, perform repeat orders, track previous orders, view invoices and create wishlists (which can be turned into orders). Musango also required a way to keep customers updated and therefore the site is connected to their MailChimp, allowing them to notify customers of changes in stock, upcoming offers etc. A coupon system was also built that allows Musango to generate codes for discounts either by percentage or fixed price to include in promotional emails.
To keep the UI as clean as possible for customers the site was created with multiple product variations within each product landing page allowing for a more uncluttered and easily navigated storefront.
This approach was supplemented by the use of product tags allowing for items to feature in multiple locations, increasing their exposure and creating a more effective and sleek customer journey. The same thought process led to the inclusion of featured products and ‘other customers bought’ sections beneath products.
Through the integration of Google Maps the website is able to display all the stockist throughout the UK. It also includes all their necessary details making the process of finding local wholesalers a simple process for retail customers.
A full rebuild is not a decision taken lightly by clients due in part to the time consuming nature of repopulating all the data and products on to a new site. To counter this and make the whole process more streamlined Envious developed a custom import file to allow Musango to transfer over 500 products in less than an hour, thus taking the pain out of the process.
Between the launch of their new site at the end of January and mid February (just 3 weeks) Musango has already seen a ROI of 50% and with the retail site coming soon this is likely to increase even faster!
