Evolution Application
Faros Engineering commissioned Envious Digital to redevelop an application to assist with the monitoring, reporting and ongoing cost-saving reports across power and water installations. The original app was developed to be accessed with Silverlight, which was no longer suitable to work with more modern technologies.
As a result of the research completed, Envious recommended a custom-built web application. The new system enables users to use it over the internet independently of the Operating System, browser, or device used. This was a major upgrade of the current live system which was solely dependent on the outdated and unsupported Internet Explorer, which also doesn’t work on tablet devices.
The new logic of generating charts and graphs ensures accuracy and reliability in how the data is presented. The new system works in a modular and scalable way which ensures the longevity of the application and improves the speed of retrieving and showcasing data.
The amount of data able to be used in the new system is exponentially bigger than the previous version and major optimisation and improvements were added. It resulted in being able to show thousands of lines of fast and accurate data. Envious made sure that the user experience and user interface were improved with an easier to use admin control panel.
This makes the new system an essential tool for Faros Engineering, whilst portraying their expertise in monitoring the costs of energy use for business, elevating their brand, and setting themselves apart from competitors.
